Important Information

Dear Patients,

Thank you for your patience during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months. We intend to be reopening our office for routine dental care on Monday, June 1st 2020. We want patients to understand that we are prioritizing appointments based on the urgency on their treatment needs. We also understand that many patients may be fearful or have anxiety about returning to public places and having any routine dental care done. We want you to know that our commitment to your safety and the safety of our staff and community will always be our top priority.

We have been and will remain extremely committed to practicing excellent infection control protocols to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all our patients and staff. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the ever-changing activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may notice many changes when it is time for your next appointment. We have made appropriate changes to help protect our patients and our staff. For example:

  • Our office will be contacting you prior to your visit to ask some screening questions, and you will be asked those same questions again when you arrive at our office. (Anyone with any symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked to reschedule their appointment.)
  • Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys, or self-serve beverages.
  • We will be asking you to wear a mask at all times in the waiting room, hallways, and reception desk areas (if you do not have a mask, one will be given to you upon arrival).
  • Please do not arrive too early for your appointment. If you arrive very early, we kindly ask that you wait in your car until 5 minutes prior to your appointment time.
  • Due to the need for extra PPE, our building will be kept slightly cooler, so we recommend that you bring a light sweater, even in the summer months.

If you are high risk or feel anxious about having dental care at this time and wish to reschedule your appointment, we are happy to help you get rescheduled. Thank you for understanding our requests and new protocols during this challenging time. We look forward to seeing you again and taking care of you and your smile. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about any of our new protocols or procedures. As always, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your trust and loyalty during this trying time.

Sincerely,

Dr. Collin Petoskey and The KFD Team
